Hey There, Monday!

It's Monday again! How does this keep happening? I have things on a to do list but little motivation to actually complete them and then Monday rolls around once more and I think, 'CRAP! I didn't get them done! Okay, for sure this week!' 2 weeks ago I had the excuse of travelling, last week I was taking part in my civic duty of attending jury duty (Yes, not selected! Safe for the next three years!), but this week I have no excuse. I will get the things done. Hear that self? It's Monday and you've got shit to do.  Let's do this!!

Hey There Monday!

So much has changed in the last couple weeks. I want to address things but also don't feel my words are enough to express my emotions or opinions. It isn't a time to remain quiet especially when in the face of such awful, backward thinking. It is our responsibility and obligation as decent human beings to be kind to one another, tolerant of each other and stand up against deplorable people who think they are using free speech instead of hate speech.

This space here is my space. It is my space to do as I will and say what I like. I choose to spread joy, share love and allow a moment to escape with pretty pictures, fun links, and travel.

Did you notice? I took last week off. Not intentionally, but the time got away from me and I thought instead of stressing about posting something, I'm just going to not do it and instead take some self care time. I finished a book, drank ciders, met new people, and spent some time with the #Bettydog. Back in January I dedicated 2017 to my passion and that includes doing some of the little things that make me happy. I sometimes forget about them when I'm focused on the bigger things. But I'm back to it this week. YAY! for fresh starts on Mondays!

It's Monday again! Today is my first day off in 10 days, so yeah, I'm partying like it's Saturday. And by partying I mean sleeping in til noon and being generally lazy. I have no plans to put pants on or leave the house. Ahhhhhhh Monday!

Hey There, Monday!

Some weekends I love being able to just do nothing. Spend time at home, filling my day with whatever the hell I want. Other weekends it's good to be reminded that I actually have friends and hang out with them. On Friday I got to put on a big-girl dress and slap on some makeup and head in to the big smoke for a girls night out, Saturday I had tea and macarons at a grand opening of the Thé Salon at MacaronZ, and Sunday brunch plans because Sunday Funday.

It's a great way to prepare yourself for the week ahead. But now I've caught a stupid summer cold and am sick in bed, so join me as we procrastinate starting the week just yet, but don't get too close *cough cough*

Hey There, Monday!

This past weekend my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They are always doing so much for other people and for me and rarely do things for themselves, so this year I thought it was time I did something big for them. With much help from my 'fairies' I managed to plan a surprise trip to Cape Cod and later a surprise dinner with some friends and family. I hated loved planning the event and I'm not entirely sure how but managed to keep everything secret until its reveal. I had so much help pulling it off and couldn't have done it on my own. Not only do my parents feel #blessed, but I do as well.
Now back to a normal Monday. Happy Monday Y'all!

Welcome to the stat holiday in Canada. The May long. May 2-4. Victoria Day weekend. The un-official, official start of summer in Canada. Patio furniture is brought out, garden centres are in full swing, and families are cramming into cars and driving up to the cottage. It has been known to show on this weekend, but that doesn't stop us from putting on some shorts and a hoodie (or bunny hug if you are so inclined) cracking open a beer from your 2-4 and gearing up for longer days ahead.

Also, we've exited daylight savings in Canada and (here comes my second old person comment) it's still light out at 7pm! Spring is coming!
