December has arrived and with it a plethora of German inspired Christmas Markets around London. It's Christmas on steroids as one friend described it and I LOVE it!
There is a general formula that all Christmas Markets follow; there must be Sausage, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and sweet treats.
There must be quaint wooden huts, giant decorations on the roofs and hundreds of twinkling fairy lights.
And there must be items on sale that you normally wouldn't consider to get as a Christmas gift for someone or for your self but now that it's being presented to you in a Christmas frenzy state, you can't help but be tempted to purchase. If you've seen one Christmas Market you have pretty much seen them all, however, I still love being surrounded by the excitement of the season, the festive music pumped out over loud speakers and always the street food. I love a street food vendor.
Another reason why I love the Southbank: we headed into the Southbank centre to use the facilities and get out of the cold for a bit and we stumbled upon a free jazz concert. It was London Jazz Festival. You just can't be bored in London.
The Southbank Christmas Market runs from now until 24 December at the Queen's Walk.

Fun travels!
